Love-in-Action Community Service Program

Our juniors and seniors make a difference throughout Central Massachusetts as volunteers in a variety of social service programs. The Love-in-Action program prepares our girls to assume their role as women of character and service.

Students give service at a site of their choice for approximately 120 hours over two years. Integrated into the religious course of studies, Love-in-Action includes journal reflections, participation in ministry, self-evaluation, and supervisor evaluation.

Students use their talents to help the community in meaningful and unique ways. Listed below are some of the organizations where our students volunteer.

Love-in-Action Mission Statement
Love-in-Action empowers students to recognize the dignity of each person and share God’s goodness by encouraging meaningful connections for service within the community.

Our main objectives are as follows:

  • To encourage students to develop a love for service and to exemplify leadership within our NDA community
  • To enable students to be responsible and accountable to themselves, family, NDA, and the community
  • To help NDA students understand that service is a basic tenet of the Christian life
  • To help NDA students gain an appreciation and understanding of the Seven Themes of Social Justice through community service and outreach
  • To help bring about justice in the world in which we live
  • To proclaim the life and dignity of each person through service to others
  • To encourage NDA’s young women to assume their roles as Women of Character through service learning and connections developed in their communities
